Khoi Khoi to launch single at Club Forty-40

NKULUMANE-based upcoming Afro-pop artiste Mulgan Dalubuhle Sibanda (23), aka Khoi Khoi, launches his debut single Tipeiwo Hwahwa at a popular club joint tomorrow.

Speaking in an interview with the Southern Eye Lifestyle, Khoi Khoi said the single Tipeiwo Hwahwa is the third release, but first to be launched.

“Tipeiwo Hwahwa is my third single, but has become the first to be launched. It will be launched at Club Forty-40. The single is a Shona traditional song and I have made an Afro-pop fusion of it with a mixture of jerusalem feel,” the artiste said.

Khoi Khoi will get a chance to perform some of his two new tracks, Lengoma and 2Bhobho. He said his music was produced in Gweru by Zimboys — Oskidd and DJ Tamuka.

Khoi Khoi said he was once based in Francistown, Botswana, where his music made waves among the Tswana people from 2010 to 2011.

He is also a fashion designer.

The artiste has promised to give patrons and fans good and sweet melodies tomorrow evening.

“People should expect the unexpected on Saturday, more plus fire works are yet to be witnessed,” he said.

Khoi Khoi has been a finalist in Dreams to Fame and Bulawayo’s Got Talent in 2012.

Meanwhile Club Forty-40 entertainment manager Sibanengi Ndebele, aka DJ Mzoe, said Khoi Khoi will be backed up by Izikhothane LoFraz, from Luveve.

Fraz is popularly known from Three Kings of Seqamabhilidi.

“Izikhothane LoFraz will come and back up Khoi Khoi. Local DJs, DJ Ally, Humble Kid, Mzoe and Ericdo will also back up the show. Patrons will be given free CDs of Khoi Khoi’s single Tipeiwo Hwahwa , ” he said.
