Zifa women’s football administrator Theresa Maguraushe yesterday confirmed that the finals, to be contested between Black Rhinos Queens and Inline Academy, will be played on Sunday.

She said the venue was yet to be confirmed, but indications yesterday appeared to suggest the match would be staged at Rufaro Stadium.

The winner of the match would get $8 000 while the losing finalists will walk away $5 000 richer.

Semi-finalists Mufakose Queens and Cyclone Stars are set to pocket $3 000 for reaching the last four while the quarter-finalists were each given $1 000.

The player who impressed the most throughout the tournament and the top goalscorer after the final match, will also be rewarded.

The tournament kicked off in January and reached the semi-final stage on April 7, but an unexplained break gave birth to a lot of conspiracy theories with others suggesting the final match had been completely scrapped off.
