Nokuthula Moyo, the provincial arts manager for Matabeleland South said they were ready for the day and preparations had gone well.

“As a province, we are ready for the day. We are inviting people from this region to come in their numbers and see the talent that we have,” he said.

Moyo said this year they were expecting spirited performances as most of the groups had taken part in the competition over the past years.

“About seven groups that will be coming for this year’s edition have taken part in this competition, some of them have failed several times. We hope this time again the competition will be challenging as groups will be battling it out to secure the top position and go to the national finals,” he said.

Groups that will take part in the competitions are Sabiwa Band, Vumbachikwe Sounds, Zonda Mthakathi, Reason Super Challengers, Young Dynamics, Zothamlilo and Chehanda band.

Last week in Matabeleland North Afro-Bongo won the provincial finals to represent the province.

Chibuku Road to Fame is a Delta sponsored event it seeks to promote up-and-coming artistes who have talent in music.

To participate a group must have recordable material and should have not recorded any album in the past.
