Yesterday they released a full list of categories for the event to be held in October.
The list features 33 categories. Only music recorded and produced between January 1 2013 and June 30 2014 would be considered, according to the organisers of the awards.
Robert Tapfumaneyi, the communications officer of Rooftop Promotions said all Zimbabwean citizens, permanent residents and any other person legally resident in Zimbabwe will be considered when they submit their art in the category section of their choice.
“The closing date for submission is midnight on August 21 to allow the board of adjudicators two full months of deliberations, judging and decision of the adjudicators panel is strictly and emphatically confidential during its process,” Tapfumaneyi said.
“No influence of any nature will be allowed, leaks or any other disclosures of the nominees and the eventual winners to the media. Any attempt to influence the decision of adjudicators’ panel will not be treated with ‘kid gloves’ by the adjudicators panel.”
Tapfumaneyi said musicians should look forward to awards such as best live stage act, visual, choreography and musical that will be purely based on live performances.
“Awards that have been held before have never recognised the group or band that has supported the lead vocalist, but come end of October one group/band will go home as winner of the outstanding band award,” he said.
