FORMER Warriors and Highlanders goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini has been registered at his South African Absa Premier Soccer League (PSL) side AmaZulu as a non-foreigner after acquiring permanent resident status.
SPORTS REPORTER Kapini follows in the footsteps of another former Warrior Esrom Nyandoro who plays in the Absa PSL for champions Mamelodi Sundowns after he obtained the permanent resident permit in South Africa.
Nyandoro was honoured with the special recognition award together with Surprise Moriri at the Brazilians awards night on Sunday and walked away R150 000 richer.
According to KickOff.com, Kapini who has been playing in South Africa for over five years confirmed that he had been issued with South African identity documents.
He becomes the third foreign player at AmaZulu to play as a local after Namibian Willem Mwedihanga and Ghanaian John Arwuah.
“All that is sorted now,” Kapini told Kickoff on Monday.
AmaZulu, has been home to Ramson Zhuwawo and Mkhokheli Dube, Kapini plays alongside fellow Zimbabwean Carlington Nyadombo.
Kapini left the championship winning Highlanders in 2006 to join Platinum Stars in South Africa before joining AmaZulu in 2011.

Meanwhile, KickOff confirmed that former Dynamos Ugandan international Boban Zirintusa had penned a two year-deal with Polokwane City.
Zirintusa, who played for Dynamos for one season, left the Harare giants in pre-season.
