How Mine………. 1 Buffaloes………… 1 FORTUNE MBELE SPORTS REPORTER TWO goals separated by a minute in a pulsating first half characterised the How Mine and Buffaloes match as the two sides shared the spoils in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Hartsfield Grounds yesterday.

How Mine dominated the game in the first few minutes and against the run of play Kastigu Juwakinyu rose above the How Mine defenders to beat an advancing Donovan Bernard in the sticks for the gold miners in the 20th minute.

A minute later, Kudakwashe Musharu notched his ninth goal of the season with a beautiful header from a well-taken corner -kick by Wonder Sithole to give How Mine the equaliser.

No movement on the log standings for either side as How Mine remained on position 11 with 24 points while visiting Buffaloes also stayed on the seventh spot with 28 points after grabbing a point from the match.

It was How Mine acting coach Sheunesu Chaka’s first league game in charge and he was excited with the draw although he felt man-of-the-match Timothy January was robbed of a goal in the 42nd minute after he was flagged for offside by linesman Melody Ncube following a build-up with Musharu.

“It was fair. We are trying to pick up points. A point is better than nothing. We conceded a very soft goal. I don’t want to complain about match officiating, but I thought that was a goal by January. We are going to try and pick up maximum points as we go,” Chaka said.

Timothy Masachi, standing in for Luke Masomere who is attending a Caf A Licence coach in Harare was happy with the point away from home.

“Lack of concentration in defence cost us, but the good thing is that we got a point away from home,” Masachi said.
