Ndoro, who hit seven goals in 16 matches when he arrived at Aces midway through the season after signing from Bulawayo side Chicken Inn, had been linked with moves to rich giants Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

But in a statement yesterday on the club’s official website, Aces said: “Aces are disappointed at the erratic media reports suggesting an exit for Tendai Ndoro and categorically dismiss these.

These irresponsible media utterances are unsettling for both the player and the club and has annoyed head coach Clive Barker.

“If I had to choose between Lionel Messi and Tendai Ndoro, I would back my player as he is set for bigger recognition,” Barker who suggested that these reports are uncalled for in today’s professional era of football, said.

“Tendai is staying with us and I have made that clear to the directors and the player. I have asked him to focus on his stay at Aces and he knows how much I value him. He is a terrific player who has all the attributes to do really well in his career. What I really like about him is that he is very grounded, a really nice guy and he works hard.”
