The party started in the late hours of Saturday night but once DJs Tawaz, Brizzy, Jack, and Spiri’s took to the decks, Stop Over Bar was on fire.

DJs spun the decks and hit the audience with beats from different genrés that had people on the dance floor.

Speaking to Southern Eye Lifestyle, the event organiser Shelton Moyo, who is also DJ Spiri’s, said he considered the show a success taking into account the huge turnout.

“The show was a great success and the turnout was good. I did not expect such a huge crowd to come and support us. I got a lot of big ups from people thanking me for creating such an event, mostly the venue set-up, décor and creating a VIP section outside. I am new in the music industry, but l managed to attract hundreds of people. I thank everyone that came to support us,” Moyo said.

Moyo encouraged Bulawayo DJs not to just spin the decks in the city alone, but encouraged them to go to each and every corner of the country for them to be exposed to different audiences and cultures so they could improve on their skills.

“The secret to become a successful DJ in this industry is that one should be exposed. DJs must try going to different places in and out of the country if possible because this helps them know what people want.

“You also get to know what is on the market and what people like to listen to mostly,” he said.

The show ended with the song Seunononga by one of Zimbabwe’s dancehall star artistes Guspy Warrior.
