Chimbambo returns to Bristol

Former national cricket Under-19 player Tinashe Chimbambo will return to Lansdown Cricket Club for the 2015 WEPL Bristol Somerset Division campaign, according to the club.

Lansdown Cricket Club yesterday confirmed they would have the player for the 2015 season.

“Having played a vital role in our promotion to the Bristol Somerset division of the West of England Premier League, the Zimbabwean will be back again next year,” the club said on their website.

The 25-year-old was the second leading scorer in the Bristol & North Somerset division in 2014, scoring 777 runs at an average of 86,33, including three centuries.

Chimbambo, who is currently playing for Durbanville in Cape Town, is a former Zimbabwe under-19 player.

Lansdown will play their first match at their new level when they visit Midsomer Norton in the first week of May.

Chimbambo is a right-hand batsman and fast-medium bowler who has also played for Northerns Province before.

He was part of the Zimbabwe squad for the 2008 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia.
