And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time. But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptised.
Then Simon himself also believed, and when he was baptised he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.
“And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

Supernatural power comes from two sources: The Holy Spirit (who is part of the God-head – Father, Son and The Holy Spirit).
John 16 vs 13-15,13: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will tell you things to come.

“He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
“All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”
Lucifer, the fallen archangel and his principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and wicked spirits.
Ephesians 6 vs 12: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
The children of darkness and false prophets connect with these spirits and then sell their souls to the devil for temporary gains.
The sons and daughters of God seem not to have the desire to press in on the Holy Spirit to enable them to experience the supernatural. God wants us to be those that can connect to the supernatural via various dimensions of God’s realms.
Realms of the supernatural. Supernatural power: This is a dimension where there is a release of power which is not naturally generated.
Examples of sources of natural power: Electricity, wind, solar power, fossils or any other natural source.
The supernatural power can either be of God or the devil as shown by the scriptures we read in Acts Chapters 8, 13 and 16. The Book of Acts explains how God’s power comes about.
Acts 1 vs 8: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 8 vs 18-19, 18, And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
The first above mentioned scriptures show that power from the holy spirit was promised and later received by the disciples when the holy spirit came upon them. However, Acts 8 vs 9, tells us about a man called Simeon, who practiced sorcery, astonishing the people with his witchcraft powers, claiming he was someone great like all false prophets do.
They listened to the false prophet and concluded that he was the great power of God. But when the false prophet saw genuine power of the Holy Spirit, he wanted to buy the power.
Acts 8 vs 10-11, 13,10, to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.
And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.
“Then Simon himself also believed, and when he was baptised he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.
When Simon the sorcerer saw genuine signs and miracles from the power of God performed by Philip, he was amazed. The devil is always amazed when He sees the power of God.
Supernatural healing: This is a dimension where the people are healed and the power to heal is from God.
Methods of healing: Laying hands upon the sick.
Mark 16 vs 18, “They will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them, they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
Mark 5 vs 23, “and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.”
Laying on of hands is one of the fundamental doctrines of Jesus Christ.
Faith: James 5 vs 15: “And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”
Acts 3 vs 7, And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
Faith in God for supernatural healing works.
Anointing with oil: James 5 vs 14: “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”
Oil in scripture is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. We do not sell bottles of oil, the leaders are to do it freely and a moderately.
Spoken word: (Just say the word). Mark 11 vs 23, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
Words are carriers of power. The worlds were formed by the spoken word.
Gifts of healing: 1 Corinthians 12 vs 8-9,8, “for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit. . .”
This is a special gift of the Holy Spirit endowed to ministers and believers as God wills. Those who possess that gift are used in healing.
Special anointings: Acts 19 vs 11-12,11: “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.”
We do not sell towels, handkerchiefs and aprons, that is prostituting the anointing. However, as the spirit of God wills He will anoint such items.
