HOLLYWOOD-BASED Zimbabwean make-up artist Jackie Muchanyuka-Mgido will be in the City of Kings to launch her cosmetic products Vault at clothing store Truworths on January 31. NONHLANHLA SIBANDA OWN CORRESPONDENT
Speaking to Southern Eye Lifestyle yesterday, Mgido said she launched her products first in Harare in April 2014 and received a good response and was now coming to Bulawayo to get more support.
“We had our first launch in Harare last year in April, which was really awesome. The support was overwhelming and I realised people want this to work as much as I do. The launch in Bulawayo will start from midday to 4pm. Those who will attend will enjoy free makeovers with any purchase,” Mgido said.
Former Big Brother Africa: The Chase housemate Dillish Matthews from Namibia, who also has her own line of lipstick and lip gloss in the Vault cosmetics range, will attend the Bulawayo launch.
After the launch, Mgido said there would be an after-party at Horizon Bar and Restaurant where Harare rapper and songwriter Tendai Nguni, better known by his stage name Tehn Diamond, will perform. He will share the stage with Djembe Monks, Cal-Vin and M J Sings.
“I encourage everyone to come and support as they will enjoy the line-up of artistes that I have hired such as Tehn Diamond, among others,” Mgido said.
Meanwhile, Mgido, who is still in Hollywood, has introduced an online competition called “Name the lip stain” open to people resident on the African continent only.
She said the winner would be announced on the day she launches her cosmetic products in Bulawayo on all social media platforms.
