Moyo of Umahlekisa told Southern Eye Lifestyle in an interview that all was set for the night of laughs.

“We will be launching our fortnightly Saturday Comedy Nights and this will be an addition to our already existing End of Month Comedy Nights.

“The aim is to grow the brand and ensure comedians are regularly employed,” Moyo said.

“The club will introduce upcoming comedians on the day, who will also take time to showcase their comic skill. We have started to groom upcoming comedians – Mandlenkosi, Sipho Moyo and Weiller from Bulawayo – and on our next act on February 13, we will introduce from Gweru, Kadeem Walele, Tichawona and Neal Mpofu.

“We wish to grow the industry and create job opportunities. This is also to avoid monotony as the new guys will bring in fresh, new acts and probably take a different angle which may be relevant to a certain part of our audiences.”

This show comes after the Intwasa Xtra Comedy Night, which took place at the Bulawayo Theatre in November 2014.
