NUST beat Highlanders 60-54 in a Bulawayo Basketball Association (BBA) league match played at the Bulawayo Municipal Courts on Saturday while Mavericks dismissed Giants 69-47.

In an earlier match, Highlanders had beaten Stars 64-38 while Kaos overcame Stars 72-49. Yesterday Nust beat Lupane 73-13 while Kaos edged City Nights 62-58.

BBA fixtures secretary Handsome Ncube was greatly surprised by the outcome.

In the women’s section, Highlanders beat Lupane 20-0 via a forfeit, Lakers Seniors beat Lupane 20-0 in another walkover. Mavericks women crushed Nust 66-12.

In the second matches of the three-day gala, Highlanders women beat Flame Lilly 40-12, Mavericks beat Hawks 95-10, and Nust overcame Hawks 42-35.

The top scorer for the women’s games was Mavericks’ Melissa Majonga with 28 points and for the men it was Highlanders’ Jordan Davis with 29 points.
