The video will be launched today and is already making waves with the number of hits online growing rapidly.

POY told Southern Eye Lifestyle that his latest offering was creative.

“The name Sola Sola is creative meaning “so live”. The video is for the hit single which is from the album Blood Money Jacob which won the album of the year for 2014. The video is an artistic visual work which is different from most typical hip-hop videos,” POY said.

“The video was shot at Nesbit Castle in Bulawayo as I always like to showcase tourist attractions in the city,” he said.

POY added that the video was a whole new level of quality in video production in Zimbabwe and was directed by Blaqs.

POY becomes one of few artistes to have their music on international online music stores with five albums to his name.

He won the people’s choice award at the first Zimbabwe Hip-hop Awards in 2011 and was nominated for best hip-hop artiste in 2013.

Last year, he won awards for having the best album of the year.

Meanwhile, the director of the video, Vusa Hlatshwayo (Blaqs), said he enjoyed working with the artiste as he is very organised.

“POY is a very professional individual who knows what he wants and his greatest asset is that he trusts my instincts and gives me artistic freedom. We have a strong business relationship and we understand each other,” he said.

Blaqs said the video was unique and it fuses class, opulence and a Gothic look with the youth and basic hip-hop freshness.

“However, there is a secret behind a good production as it is a delicate balance between the right amount of passion from the artiste and the director’s vision and technical experience. It’s also about staying true to the original idea in the song.

“This is the second time I have shot videos for POY. The first video was nominated for best hip-hop music video at the Zim Hip-hop Awards 2014. I did the video under Ingwe Studios banner as they supplied me with equipment.”
