JOHANNESBURG – Former Generations actress turned businesswoman Sonia “Ntombi” Sedibe has opened up about her divorce from her husband of eight years, about suffering a mild stroke and moving on.

For the past two to three years, Sedibe has borne the brunt of malicious rumours and intense public scrutiny.

Now the mother of three has finally broken her silence and clarified what really happened. Speaking to True Love magazine, Sedibe said while she was going through a spilt with her ex, she was hospitalised and an ECG (electro-cardiography) was conducted.

Although nothing was found – Sedibe had a panic attack at her son’s birthday party. She started crying and had to be driven home by friends.

“I lost my mind and said things that didn’t make sense.” It was later confirmed Sedibe had suffered a stroke.

About her failed union, Sedibe said: “I don’t know of anyone who willingly walks away from their marriage if they still want to make it work. But the truth is Leslie and I were two different people who wanted different things.

Yes, we loved each other . . . I became the person that he wanted me to be and lost myself in the process.” Sedibe moved into her luxurious Sandton home two years ago, after her divorce was finalised.

Sedibe is candid about the fight she had with her domestic helper and quitting the yet-to-be-aired, Real Housewives of Jozi show because she was not paid for a year-and-a-half. – Times Live
