PROVINCES are gearing up for the National Association of Primary School Heads (Naph) Nestlé Athletics and Physical Education tournament which will be held in Bindura on March 24 to 27.
Naph national spokesperson Elton Sinyosi said provinces would start their preparations this month.
“The Nestlé Athletics and Physical Education competition slated for March 24 to 27,” he said.
“Provinces have started preparing for the competition which will be held in Bindura. Some provinces will hold their provincial competitions on February 20 while others will do so in March.”
Bulawayo will hold their competition at White City Stadium on March 13, Harare at the National Sports Stadium, Manicaland at Sakubva, Mashonaland West in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland East at a venue to be announced, Mashonaland Central at Trojan Mine, Matabeleland North at Loziba School in Bubi and Matabeleland South at Pelandaba Stadium in Gwanda, all on the same date.
The Midlands will be hosting their meet on February 20 while Masvingo, who will be at Mucheke Stadium, are still to finalise on the date.
“The Nestlé Athletics and Physical Education Competition will be held under the theme ‘Eat Well, Play Well, Grow Well’.
We want to encourage children to have healthy habits and prevent non-communicable diseases such as diabetes.
We are encouraging children to eat balanced diets to avoid malnutrition,” he said.
