Renowned local radio and music celebrities graced the event and wowed fans with exquisite performances.

Among the personalities that attended the celebrations were BaShupi, former Big Brother Africa: Hotshots housemate Tariro “Dj Butterphly” Mharapara and ZiFM Stereo’s Vivian Phiri.

People jostled to get a better view of the open performances and went into frenzy when Ba Shupi performed his hit song Ma 1, which they sang along to.

He comically remixed the song Godo triggering roars of laughter from the crowd as he directly translated the lyrics into English.

Fans jostled to take pictures with their favourite radio personalities.

“I am happy that the organisers remembered Gweru because we usually read about such events taking place in Harare,” said an excited Esther Moyo, who was at Civic Centre.

Gweru mayor Hamutendi Kombayi, city councillors, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation representatives and officials from the Information, Media and Broadcasting Services ministry attended the show.
