There was a road-show last Friday that covered Bulawayo’s high-density suburbs of Sizinda, Tshabalala, Nkulumane, Mpopoma, Emganwini and Nketa to promote the talent search.

Later than evening, revellers put on their dancing shoes and got down to some tunes from Martin and Ndolwane Super Sounds at the Sizinda South beer garden.

The event was organised by Donald Ndebele, Crispen Ndlovu and Carlos Ngozo in partnership with Ingwebu Breweries, Stratia Beverages, Savanna Tobacco and African Distillers.

Speaking to the Southern Eye Lifestyle, Ndebele said it was their desire to unearth talent in Sizinda.

“Our main aim and focus is to identify talent in the Sizinda community and surrounding areas and give them exposure, as our way of giving back to the community,” Ndebele said.

He said the competition would run for six weeks and 10 people will compete in the final for top three positions.

“The competition will run for six weeks and we urge people to come in large numbers to support the contestants showcasing their talent.

“We are still finalising the prizes. We are pleased with what we have achieved in the past two years as our Season 1 winner Zibozi is a finalist on ZTV’s Star Brite.

“This is part of our agenda, to unearth local talent and showcase it at a national level where they stand a better chance of becoming superstars,” Ndebele said.
