Your lips are moving

WE sip on them, we use them to smile, to talk and to pout. Women would never survive without their lips.

Lips are an important feature on our faces. They can be made shiny, bright, dark or glittery, depending on the look you prefer.

Apart from diamonds, lipstick should be every girl’s best friend. Lipstick, lip gloss or lip crayon all make the lips look amazing.

Even when you use the best mascara, eyeliner and foundation on, without lipstick the look can never be complete. Lipstick sends a message of confidence, boldness and elegance.

Lipstick is important because it makes you look beautiful. Every woman wants to feel like a show stopper and lipstick enhances beauty.

It helps with hydration. Lips need to be moisturised and hydrated so that they don’t dry, chap and wrinkle. Research studies have shown that some lipsticks now contain sunscreen. Your lips get to look good and be protected at the same time.

Four common types of lipstick are: Matte – strongest, darkest colours of lipstick are often mattes. Rather than being shiny they deflect light. Mattes are often longer wearing than other types. They are not so flattering on thinner or wrinkled lips because they don’t moisturise.

Crème – this type falls between mattes and glosses. Crème contain more wax than matte, so crème lipsticks protect lips better than other types but can result in dry lips.

Shimmers – these contain light reflecting particles that may be mica, silica or synthetic pearl. Shimmers are usually used for special occasions.

Long wearing – some of these are very drying. The most long lasting lipsticks usually consist of a base and a gloss. Once the base is dry you can reapply the gloss for extra shine.

Women often make the mistake of using eyeliner in place of lip liner. Eyeliner is too thick and bold, it does not have the same effect as lip liner. When applying lip liner use a colour to match your lipstick or natural base shade.

The lip liner must be sharpened, then soften it by smudging it on your hand before applying. To shape your lips start on your top lip and work from left to right. Colour in your whole lip with your pencil to make a good even base so that the lipstick lasts longer.

Go crazy and fierce with red, peach, berry, brown, orange and even pink lips. Purple lips are trendy at the moment, Rihanna and Ariana Grande are rocking them. Lipstick works perfectly when the colour complements your complexion.
