The charges have been hiked from $3 to $5 for the rest of ground, $5 to $10 for the wings and $10 to $15 for the VIP.

It’s the first big league game that Highlanders are playing at their traditional homeground, Emagumeni, which will also be beamed live on SuperSport 9. Highlanders issued a statement yesterday on the new charges.

“As we prepare for the Highlanders FC versus Caps United (sic), and in particular considering our financial predicament, the club has resolved to charge the following: Rest of Ground $5-00, Wings $10-00, VIP $15-00. The PSL has issued complimentary privilege cards to persons who have been cleared for the privilege card status.

Journalists have also been accredited accordingly. In the spirit of realising as much revenue as possible so that the club meets its financial obligations, there will be strict controls of people entering the stadium. Unless a person has the PSL privilege card, no one will be allowed free entry,” the statement, signed by club chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede, reads.

Bosso applauded their fans for not resorting to violence following the 0-1 loss to Chapungu at BF two weeks ago, after the fans peacefully marched to the team’s clubhouse to register their displeasure at the defeat.

Last Sunday, Highlanders beat Dongo Sawmills 1-0 at Vengere Stadium in Rusape through a Nqobizitha Masuku first-half goal to move into fourth place with 10 points, five behind leaders Chicken Inn and four behind defending champions Dynamos.

The two clash in a top-of-the-table tie at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
