Zulu described the ZPC Kariba match as very important for Highlanders who are targeting to end the season in the top five depending on the Caps United/WhaWha result at the National Sports Stadium.

Bosso were on Tuesday drawn against Dynamos in the semi-final of the Easycall Cup and the match will be played at Barbourfields Stadium on the weekend of December 5-6 with the other semi-final pitting league champions Chicken Inn and Caps United.

“I am happy with the draw, but let’s focus on ZPC Kariba and next week I will tell you what we are going to do to Dynamos. We are targeting a top-five finish and we can only achieve that if we win against ZPC Kariba and Caps United lose or draw. We need to win this game. It is a very difficult game. They beat us last year and they beat us in Harare in the first league match this year and 75% of their players are still there and (Sunday) Chidzambwa is a good coach. But we are prepared to fight since we have a target to meet,” Zulu said.

He said the mandate of the current technical set-up, which includes coach Amini Soma-Phiri, was to end the season in the top eight and reach the final of the NetOne-sponsored tournament.

With one match to go, Highlanders are on position six on the log table with 41 points, two behind Caps United, who sit on position five. But there is even the danger of Highlanders dropping to position seven if they lose to ZPC Kariba and seventh-placed Hwange beat Triangle at the Colliery.

The coal miners have 39 points.
