A Bulawayo councillor has sent an SOS to donors and other stakeholders to help improve living and sanitation conditions at Ngozi Mine in the city.
Ngozi Mine shack dwellers have often bemoaned poor living conditions at their informal settlement area due to lack of proper infrastructure and social services.
The community members live in shacks made of plastics and metal sheets and they struggle to get basic services such as water, education, legal documentation, and health care services among others.
Ward 2 councillor, Adrian Moyo, said the informal settlement area is faced with various challenges in terms of accessing local authority and government services.
“We are seeking donors and well-wishers to help fund projects to enhance their living which can be sustainable,” he said.
