PREPARATIONS for the Mining Engineering and Transport Expo (Mine Entra) 2025 and Africa Infrastructure and Built Environment Conference and Expo (AfriConfex) 2025 are at an advanced stage, with more than 240 direct exhibitors booked to participate, and a strong interest from both local and international exhibitors.
This was revealed by Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) board chairperson Busisa Moyo during a Press conference at the Zimbabwe International Conference and Exhibition Smart City (ZICES) on Wednesday.
Mine Entra and AfriConfex 2025 are scheduled to take place concurrently between October 8 and 10 at ZICES in Bulawayo.
“Over 240 direct exhibitors booked to participate with strong interest from both local and international exhibitors,” Moyo said.
“This figure includes 14 direct exhibitors, representing four countries; namely the People’s Republic of China, India, South Africa and the United Kingdom.”
He said exhibitors included a diverse range of sectors, namely heavy and light equipment suppliers, engineering firms, transport and logistics providers, research institutions, financial service providers and other support services.
Moyo said by co-locating AfriConfex with Mine Entra, they created a dynamic platform designed to amplify cross-sectoral engagement, attract a broader spectrum of stakeholders and foster meaningful synergies between mining and other strategic industries notably energy, engineering, infrastructure, transport and logistics.
He said the two events were strategic instruments of economic transformation.

“They embody Zimbabwe’s collective ambition for sustainable industrialisation, infrastructure modernisation and inclusive growth — aspirations firmly rooted in our national development blueprint, vision 2030.
“Their alignment with on-going national key focus areas, policy reforms and sectoral strategies reflects a deliberate effort to unlock the full potential of our economy.”
Programmes during the event include structured networking sessions and targeted procurement meetings and are designed to facilitate meaningful business engagements and unlock new opportunities for suppliers and mining houses alike.
“We have already received confirmation of participation from various mining houses including Zimasco, Unki Mine, Hwange Colliery Company, Sino Cement, PPC and Blanket Mine,” he said.
Mine Entra will run under the theme Beyond Extraction: Sustaining the Future of Mining.
Moyo said mining was a critical cog in the Zimbabwean economy, contributing nearly 12% of the country’s GDP and employing thousands across the value chain.
“In addition, an industry-driven conferencing programme has been lined up in close co-operation with the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Miners Federation.
“As is the norm, the highlight of the conferencing programme will be the Mine Entra conference and the official opening ceremony scheduled for October 9, which will be headlined by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.”
Moyo said Mnangagwa would be accompanied by Mines and Mining Development minister Winston Chitando alongside other Cabinet ministers and high-level government officials, industry leaders and international delegates.
He announced that this year’s Annual Mine Entra Charity Golf Tournament will be hosted at the Bulawayo Golf Club and that proceeds of the event will be channelled towards supporting individuals living with albinism.
“Specifically, the funds will contribute to Albinism Konnect’s initiative to acquire a mobile skin clinic, providing critical dermatological care and outreach services to underserved communities,” he said.
Moyo said the AfriConfex anchor conference would be held on October 8 and was set to be officially opened by Transport and Infrastructural Development minister Felix Mhona.
“The session will delve into critical areas such as smart city design, climate-resilient infrastructure, inclusive urban planning and innovation in construction technologies.
“It is a strategic response to the pressing need for modern, sustainable and people-centred
infrastructure in Zimbabwe and the region.”
