
A 19-YEAR-OLD man from Bulu village, Mphoengs in Plumtree has appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing two counts of theft.
The value of stolen money is US$92 and only US$2 was recovered.
Givemore Sibanda was remanded in custody to October 31 for trial.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court that on October 11 at around 10pm, the complainant, Bigboy Moyo, left US$70 and airtime recharge cards worth US$22 inside his tuckshop after closing for the day.
Sibanda allegedly took advantage of the absence of Moyo and broke into the tuckshop.
After gaining entry to the tuckshop he stole US$70 and airtime recharge cards worth US$22.
Moyo noticed the break-in the following day at around 7am and informed the police.
On the second count, Sibanda used the same modus operandi to enter the tuckshop the following day, around 11pm.

Sibanda struck again but was spotted by a villager, Themba Ndlovu, who alerted the police.
He was arrested from the tuckshop.
