A 17-year-old teenager has been remanded in custody for allegedly breaking into a police officer's house and stealing cash.
The minor, who cannot be named for legal and ethical reasons, appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing charges of unlawful entry and theft.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyath alleged that on October 11, the suspect broke into a house within the Plumtree police station residential quarters.
He is accused of stealing US$230, 300 rand, and 150 pula before fleeing the scene.
The accused was subsequently arrested following a police investigation.
Nembaware remanded the teenager in custody until October 23 for a bail hearing.
