Isiziba Youth Centre set for major facelift

This comes as the City of Bulawayo has partnered Bulawayo Vendors and Traders Organisation (BVTO) to rehabilitate the Isiziba Youth Centre situated at Njube suburb into a modern skills incubation centre. 

The Isiziba Youth Centre in Bulawayo’s Njube suburb is expected to undergo a major facelift as it will be transformed into a youth innovation hub that will equip youths with entrepreneurial skills. 

This comes as the City of Bulawayo has partnered Bulawayo Vendors and Traders Organisation (BVTO) to rehabilitate the Isiziba Youth Centre situated at Njube suburb into a modern skills incubation centre. 

BVTO in partnership with the City of Bulawayo, Unemployed Vulnerable Foundation Trust (UVFT), Green Hut, African Food Revolution (AFR) and Lupane State University is implementing the Urban Futures programme under the sponsorship of Hivos. 

According to latest council minutes, director housing and community services, Dictor Khumalo, the centre will remain a property of the city. 

The centre will be converted into an information communication technologies hub connected to Starlink internet access while also manipulating Artificial Intelligence 

“The hub will create job opportunities, reduce youth unemployment, and foster a vibrant green entrepreneurial ecosystem,” the minutes read. 

“The implementation strategy will be premised on the renovation and refurbishment of the Isiziba Youth Centre into a Youth Innovation Hub strategically located in Njube for easy accessibility as per the above-mentioned reasons.” 

The renovations and refurbishments would include, installing a perimeter fence/precast wall and closed-circuit television CCTV/ alarm security system.
