A Plumtree herd boy has been taken to court for a violent assault on a co-worker, whom he allegedly attacked with a sling and bit during a dispute over disrespect.
Sinai Ndebele (34), of Ngulube homestead, appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing an assault charge last week.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi outlined the case, stating that the incident occurred in a garden sometime in October.
An argument erupted after Ndebele accused his colleague, Shadreck Ndlovu, of showing him disrespect.
“The accused took a sling and struck the complainant on the eye,” Nyathi said.
“He then bit him on the right arm.”
The court heard that the injured Ndlovu received medical treatment and was subsequently discharged.
The case was adjourned and is set to continue on November 14.
