A Plumtree man has appeared in court on an assault charge after he allegedly poured beer on his 68-year-old neighbour for allegedly spreading gossip about him.
A Plumtree man has appeared in court on an assault charge after he allegedly poured beer on his 68-year-old neighbour for allegedly spreading gossip about him.
Ebiton Sibanda (25) was dragged before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware, who remanded the case to November 19 for a hearing.
The State, represented by Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi, alleged that on November 21, Sibanda confronted his neighbour, Sanelisiwe Ncube.
He accused her of telling lies about him to his wife.
“The accused proceeded to pour beer on her face before leaving the scene,” Nyathi told the court.
The incident was reported to the police, leading to Sibanda’s subsequent arrest.
