MultiChoice Zimbabwe donates to Nketa Primary

MultiChoice Zimbabwe has donated classroom furniture worth US$3 000 to Nketa Primary School

SATELLITE TV company MultiChoice Zimbabwe has donated classroom furniture worth US$3 000 to Nketa Primary School, a move hailed by city and school officials as a significant boost to learning conditions.

The donation, comprising 50 desks and 50 chairs, was handed over last week.

It coincides with the recent launch of the DStv Zimnandi package, an initiative by the pay-Tv giant meant to strengthen ties with its growing audience in the Matabeleland region.

In a speech read on his behalf at the ceremony, Bulawayo mayor David Coltart expressed gratitude for the timely intervention.

“I am very pleased to accept this donation, which will, indeed, improve the quality of educational services provided to learners,” he said.

“The City of Bulawayo is excited that out of all the schools in the Metropolitan province, Nketa was selected as the beneficiary.

“It is our prayer that your company continues to prosper stemming from this good gesture.”

Deputy head Rosemary Tshuma said the donation was a powerful reminder that education is not the responsibility of the school alone.

“It is a shared vision and duty of the community at large,” Tshuma said.

“The furniture we are receiving today will greatly enhance the learning environment, reduce shortages and motivate both learners and teachers to perform better.”

The donation comes as MultiChoice intensifies efforts to attract local subscribers in Matabeleland, a region where many residents have historically preferred South African satellite services.

Investment in community projects like these is seen as the company's strategy to build local goodwill and strengthen brand presence.
