Two villagers face attempted murder charges 

Jullen Sibanda and Ngqabutho Ncube were remanded in custody by magistrate Sibonginkosi Mkandla and will remain in custody pending the continuation of their trial.

Two men from Ntabazinduna  in Matabeleland North appeared before the Bulawayo regional magistrates court  facing attempted murder charges for allegedly stabbing a fellow villager during a dispute.

Jullen Sibanda and Ngqabutho Ncube were remanded in custody by magistrate Sibonginkosi Mkandla and will remain in custody pending the continuation of their trial.

The court heard that on October 4, 2025, at around 8 PM, the accused went to the homestead of the complainant Eric Dube, but did not find him there.

Later that evening, the two men confronted Dube elsewhere in the village and allegedly took turns stabbing him with a metal object.

Dube sustained a deep cut to his head and stab wounds to both legs. He was rushed to hospital for treatment following the attack.

The motive for the assault was not disclosed in court.

The matter was reported to the police, leading to the duo’s swift arrest.
