Bubi Rural District Council has taken its 2026 mid-term budget consultations to communities across the district, giving residents, businesspeople and community groups an opportunity to influence local development priorities.
The consultations are also being used to gather public input ahead of the preparation of the council’s 2027 budget, with communities expected to raise concerns around service delivery and infrastructure.
Bubi RDC said the consultations were being conducted in every ward to ensure that development priorities were informed by the needs of communities.
“The mid-term budget consultations provide a platform for residents, business owners and community interest groups to engage directly with council leadership, review progress on the 2026 budget and provide feedback on service delivery and infrastructure development,” the council said.
The local authority said the consultations would help identify priorities for the 2027 budget, including water infrastructure, roads, clinics and schools.
It said the process was intended to promote transparency and community participation in local governance.
“By participating in these meetings, community members have the opportunity to highlight critical local priorities, ensuring that the proposed 2027 budget directly reflects the real needs and aspirations of the people of Bubi,” Bubi RDC said.
The council urged residents to attend meetings in their respective wards and engage council representatives on issues affecting their communities.
