BINGA, SEPT 29, (SOUTHERN EYE LIVE): Binga North legislator Chineka Muchimba has donated an infant incubator and personal protective equipment to the local district hospital as part of efforts to strengthen neonatal care at the health institution.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Muchimba said the provision of quality healthcare was his priority area.
“Every child deserves the chance to survive and thrive. This incubator is an investment in the lives of our newborn babies and in strengthening healthcare delivery for our communities,” he said.
A hospital representative welcomed the donation, saying the equipment would strengthen services for premature and vulnerable newborns.
“This equipment is a valuable addition to our neonatal services and will strengthen the care we provide to premature and vulnerable newborn babies. We greatly appreciate this support to the hospital and the people of Binga,” the hospital representative said.
The donation comes as refurbishment and other improvements continue at Binga District Hospital, including work towards establishing a nursing school.
Muchimba has also been monitoring the rehabilitation of the hospital kitchen, which was damaged by fire in 2025.
The intervention forms part of wider efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and access to essential services in Binga.
