Highlands Primary gets lifeline amid water crisis

News

IN response to the severe water supply shortage affecting the Mt Pleasant constituency, Honourable George Mashavave has launched a project to provide solar-powered boreholes to affected communities.

Highlands Primary School, which had made an urgent appeal for help, is the first beneficiary of this critical initiative.

The representative was deeply concerned about the school's water crisis, which prompted him to initiate the project.

With access to clean, potable water, the school can now prioritize the health and well-being of its students.

Mashavave has promised to intervene to address the persistent water crisis in the Mt Pleasant Constituency.

He acknowledges the severe health risks associated with inadequate water supply in his constituency.

"We acknowledge that water scarcity is a citywide challenge, but the school's lack of access to water was particularly distressing, prompting me to initiate this project.

"The school now has access to clean, potable water, reflecting my commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of our children," he said.

Many urban areas in Zimbabwe, including Mt Pleasant, face challenges related to intermittent tap water supply due to aging infrastructure and climate change.
