What is the truth?

WE live in a free world where there’s space for every voice.

Both noise and intelligent conversations find expression.

There are always ears which cunning and unscrupulous chancers exploit to cut a niche.

It is the duty of the corporate church to saturate the space with the truth of the gospel.

However this is not an easy undertaking because our anchor resource, the Bible, is also used to peddle falsehoods.

Oftentimes the temptation is to try to enumerate lies, falsehoods and heresies.

This is a tall order because you can’t finish them.

It is made worse by the reality as we found out previously that the Bible is not read and known as expected.

Patience and prayer are probably the best options we have.

There’s place for spelling out wrong doctrines though care is needed to make sure that the flock is fed with the truth.

More truth will make it difficult for lies to make progress.

Going about rebutting dangerous teachings is often mockingly referred to as satanic or demonic monitoring spirits.

Superior knowledge therefore is the ultimate weapon which will expose lies though it may take time.

As ministers of the Gospel of Christ, we are aware that some of those peddling lies will repent and try to correct sermons or messages.

The question to be answered is will there be enough time to pull out of the valley gullible souls who followed without reading the Bible for themselves?

There are tested study material to help understand the Bible which one can use beyond doctoral studies for free.

For issues of life and death I teach that it’s better to engross yourself in study even if no one awards you with a certificate.

You would have spared yourself and your generation.

The more you compare sermons to come up with what suits you or tastes good without scriptural footing powered by spiritual force, the higher the chances of creating gods for yourself.

Stay with the Bible. It may not immediately appear to be consistent but one day the dots will connect.

In the last decade, on this platform, we have looked at many verses that are seemingly contradictory to prove that the Bible is not contradictory.

We need to rightly divide the Word of Truth.

What is this truth then? We have answered it before but we want to add more flesh.

For expediency Jesus is the truth which is found in the Gospel of Christ.

We already studied what that Gospel is.

We navigate the Bible through the eyes of Christ.

We quote Hebrews 1:3, “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”

Jesus is the express image of God. He is the barometer to find out God’s will and intent.

If we’re not careful we can extract lies in the Bible.

2 Timothy 2:15 is instructive, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

For starters, the dividing line between the Old Testament and New Testament is the blood of Jesus.

A theology that Zimbabwe is cursed is not sustainable under the New Testament otherwise the blood of Jesus is useless.

How did Jesus divide it? We read Luke 4:18-20, “[18] The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, [19] To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. [20] And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.”

I want you to note that after the acceptable year of the Lord He closed the Book, Bible.

He was reading Isaiah and we read Isaiah 61:2, “To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;”

Please read carefully. Jesus did not proclaim vengeance.

His atoning blood was going to cover that.

We no longer need sheep, goats and bulls or sacrifices.

No more special offerings to cleanse the bloodline.

The risen Christ is our bloodline and genealogy and there’s no evil in Him.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
