Dynamos extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a hard-fought victory over Simba Bhora at a packed Wadzanayi Stadium on Sunday.
A cagey contest was settled by a moment of brilliance, as Frank Agyemang struck from the centre circle in first-half stoppage time to underline DeMbare’s growing title credentials in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
The match began under a sombre note, with a minute of silence observed for Dynamos supporter Ronald Mujuru, who lost his wife and five children in a road accident last Thursday.
Simba Bhora started brightly and should have led early when a defensive error gifted Tevin Naweseb a clear chance, but the Namibian striker fired wide.
Dynamos gradually took control, pinning the hosts back and earning a penalty in the 42nd minute after Witness Shave was fouled in the box. Goalkeeper William Thole, however, kept Simba Bhora level by saving Jairosi Kasondo’s spot-kick.
Moments later, Thole’s misjudged clearance proved costly. Agyemang seized on the loose ball and, spotting the keeper off his line, fired into an empty net from distance.Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe praised his side’s discipline and awareness.
“It was a difficult match. We had to maintain our structure and rely on counter-pressing and transitions,” he said.
“The goal shows alertness — that’s what we emphasise in training.”

Agyemang nearly doubled the lead late on, hitting the crossbar, with Leeroy Mavunga just failing to convert the rebound.
The closing stages were marred by controversy, with Simba Bhora coach Mandla Mpofu furious over refereeing decisions.
“We can’t have such a big game decided like this,” Mpofu said. “We were denied two clear penalties. It’s frustrating for everyone.”
Despite the complaints, Dynamos held on to move second on the table with 14 points, one behind leaders Caps United.
Simba Bhora suffered their first defeat of the season and drop to sixth.
