GWANDA — Two brothers appeared before a Gwanda magistrate yesterday facing murder charges after they allegedly teamed up to assault a fellow reveller resulting in him sustaining serious injuries leading to his death.

Report by Albert Ncube

Allegations against Keabetsoe (34) and Simon Siziba (42) both of Mtshatshani village under Chief Marupi, are that on April 23 at Tibeli business centre, the two were drinking beer with the now deceased Moses Ndlovu.

Keabetsoe and Ndlovu had a misunderstanding that degenerated into a fistfight.

Simon joined in the fight and assaulted the deceased with open hands, clenched fists and booted feet several times all over the body.

Ndlovu escaped with internal rib injuries and a swollen body.

The deceased was taken to Gwanda Hospital and was later referred to United Bulawayo Hospitals, as his condition was worsening. He died on May 31, as a result of the internal injuries sustained from the assault. Magistrate Douglas Vakayi Chikwekwe remanded the two in custody to June 18 and advised them to apply to the High Court for bail.
