TWO Tilbar Butchery employees in Bulawayo have appeared in court after allegedly stealing 8kg of beef from their employer.

The two, Tapfumaneyi Hove (39) of Mzilikazi suburb and Ramsten Tsamba (41) of New Magwegwe suburb, appeared in court on Wednesday facing theft charges after they were allegedly caught red-handed by their employer last Saturday trying to smuggle the beef out of the butchery.
Prosecutor Marlvin Nzombe told the court that on the day, Hove allegedly weighed two paper bags containing sausages and T-bone steak.
“He then handed over the meat to Tsamba who went and left them at the exit point,” he said.
“Tsamba then allegedly went back and took another paper bag containing the same amount of sausages and beef and then tried to pass through the exit point without paying, but was intercepted by his employer Douglas Shenk, the complainant in this case.
Shenk then discovered that the two had connived to steal meat from the butchery.
The total value of the stolen meat is $48,72 and was fully recovered by the complainant Magistrate Witness Nzombe remanded the two employees out of custody to July 3 for trail.
