Sarudzai Zhou (32) pleaded not guilty to the charge when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tawanda Muchemwa.
The magistrate, however, convicted and sentenced her to spend five months in jail or alternatively to pay a fine of $200.
The court heard that Zhou, of Mzilikazi, was having an affair with Sibongile Ndlovu’s husband, whose name was not stated in court papers.
On March 26 this year, Ndlovu was at her home, also in Mzilikazi, when she received a phone call from Zhou at 9am.
Zhou reportedly shouted to Ndlovu saying: “You are the one who killed my child,” before hanging up.
Again on April 1, Zhou called Ndlovu at 12:40am and insulted her. Ndlovu made a report to the police, leading to Zhou’s arrest.
