Nothing for Mahala will hit the music shelves later this year, but POY has proceeded to release the popular Yebbo single as a precursor to the 13-track album due before the start of the festive season.

The beats for Yebbo were synthesised by Botswana’s top producer SlimCash while POY did vocals in collaboration with local disc-jockey Dj Face of Face the Music Records.

POY confirmed to Southern Eye Lifestyle the release of the single.

“I just felt like making a song that people could enjoy and dance to. The inspiration came when I was out and enjoying with friends,” POY said.
“I’m trying to push it to music lovers and I have dropped the track at various radio stations in the country.

People have been supporting the track and I have performed it in different night spots and the response has been amazing,” he added.

The Mabhomba hit-maker worked with local upcoming artistes Kasi Lunatis, Khaya, Young Stan, Warfresh and Pronix on Nothing for Mahala.

POY, born in 1980 and former student at Plumtree High School, has three albums under his belt — 15 Minutes Of Fame, Babylon System  and  Nothing for Mahala.

He won the People’s Choice award at the first Zimbabwe Hip-hop awards in 2011.
