The award is given by the ministry to a high school that has produced good examination results, displayed high standards in its administrative and disciplinary procedures and maintained its infrastructure.

Violet Mahefu, director of studies at Speciss Bulawayo High School, said over the past year, the ministry had conducted numerous inspections to ensure the school measured up to stringent requirements.

“After over a year of continuous assessment, we have been very honoured that Speciss has come out tops,” she said.

Officials from the Education ministry are today expected to present a plaque to the school at a function to be held at Speciss Bulawayo Campus.

The school has helped thousands of students from Form 3 to Upper Sixth to attain the best possible results in Zimsec and Cambridge examinations.

In 2014, the high school will introduce Form 1 and Form 2 classes, giving primary school graduates the chance to benefit from the college’s high standards of tuition.
