ZANU PF failed to announce its Midlands provincial election results by yesterday as promised, four days after the polls were held amid reports that some outcomes had yet to reach the command centre in the provincial capital Gweru.

Zanu PF politburo member and Midlands province elections co-ordinator Olivia Muchena said the results were still to be announced as the command centre was still waiting for the poll process to be concluded in some areas.

Muchena could not be drawn into revealing the areas where the poll process had still not been concluded by yesterday.

“We are still waiting for results from some areas in the province and that has stalled the announcement of the results at the moment,” Muchena said.

The provincial elections have been tainted by allegations of vote-buying, massive fraud, confusion and apathy.
