The development was announced on the consultancy’s Facebook page on Wednesday.

According to the statement, plans are underway for the state-of-the-art cricket academy to offer live-in facilities for international students who will enroll at the institution.

“The academy is looking to offer ‘live- in’ facilities for all those international students wanting to enroll. This will be in our second stage of development and won’t happen for a little while yet. Please keep watching this Facebook page and our newly launched website: http://www.heathstreaksportsdevelopment.com/ for more details on the ‘live-in’ structure,” the statement reads.

Streak, former Zimbabwe Cricket senior national team fast bowler said on the website: “My aim is to offer talented youth, and those with a desire to learn, the opportunity to showcase their abilities with the hope that they may perhaps one day represent their country, province, club or school with pride, determination and above all else – a smile! Learning to be a gracious loser is just as important as learning to be a humble winner. Through healthy competition and participation, we will empower youth to dream big, deal with challenges with a positive attitude, show determination, depth of character and grace both on and off the field.”

Among the coaching staff at the academy will be Gavin Ewing, Godwill Mamhiyo and John Nyumbu.

The Heath Streak Consultancy and Sports Development was launched a few months ago on a lease agreement with MacDonald Sports Club for a period of 30 years extendable every ten years signed in November.

The chief executive officer of Heath Streak Initiative, Joseph Rego, is part of the academy which has seen a lot of corporates in the city landing support.
