JOHANNESBURG — Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande is delighted to have signed a new contract with the club which will keep him at Naturena until June 2017.

The Zimbabwean, who is poised to play against Golden Arrows in Durban tonight, has represented the Glamour Boys 61 times since joining them from Ajax Cape Town two years ago.

“I am pleased with the way the negotiations went,” Katsande said.

“To pen a new deal speaks volumes. It is all about hard work paying off.

“I will do the rest of the talking on the field of play to respond to this vote of confidence,” the physical 27-year-old vowed. Katsande is the second player to recently commit his long-term future to Chiefs, with defender Mulomowandau Mathoho last week also penning fresh terms until June 2017.

However, striker Lehlohonolo Majoro is set to leave the Absa PSL champions after turning down an offer of a new deal.
