A VICTORIA FALLS-BASED clearing agent heaved a sigh of relief on Monday when he was spared imprisonment and sentenced to perform 105 hours of community service after being convicted of fraud involving over $9 000.

NOKUTHABA DLAMINI OWN CORRESPONDENT Abiton Lungu (30), a director at Analyzer Freight Services, of Mkhosana Township in the resort town was convicted of theft by Victoria Falls resident magistrate Sharon Rosemani. Lungu was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment of which six months were suspended for four years on condition of good behavior.

Another 15 months were suspended on condition he restitutes $7 000 to the complainant by June 12.

The remaining three months were suspended on condition he performs 105 hours of community service.
