The team left for Kadoma yesterday for the competition that will see athletes competing in the senior and junior age groups.

Bingadadi said although Harare and Matabeleland South provinces posed the greatest challenge especially in the senior men’s category, Bulawayo is banking on ZRP Fair Bridge Athletics Club’s Isaac Mpofu who won last year’s competition in Kwekwe.

Matabeleland South has Blanket Mine’s Nkosiyazi Sibanda while Harare will be hoping on Kelvin Pangiso.

“We are promising to do our best. We believe we have a strong team that is ready to win. Harare and Matabeleland provinces are the main threats, but our athletes are aware of that. They will give their best. In the senior men’s category there is a lot of competition with Nkosiyazi Sibanda and Kelvin Pangiso being the main people to worry about, but our team has good athletes as well,” Bingadadi said.

Mpofu leads other five club mates Ngonidzashe Ncube, Trust Chidomaya , John Payarira , Trust Madoro and Charles Chivanga in the senior men category.

In the women’s category Ruth Mandebvu of Bulawayo City Striders will lead the duo of Annie Chirisa (ZRP FB) and Nomsa Silenje an independent athlete.

Nkosilathi Bafana of Sparrows Athletics Club will be carrying the hopes for the province in the junior men’s category with some of the club mates.
