Blessing City Store manager John Doro told Southern Eye two men entered the shop around 19:30 hours on Friday masquerading as customers. The men spent about 10 minutes inside the shop where they bought some groceries.

Doro said when the men left, another two entered the shop and one of them who was armed ordered everyone in the shop to lie down. He said the other man went on to empty the tills and put the money in a plastic bag.

“We were about to close the shop when these men suddenly entered the shop and ordered everyone to lie down shouting lalani phansi sizalibulala (lie done, we will kill you),” Doro said.

“When they were done; the men ran out and I immediately switched on the alarm and called the police who responded swiftly.”

He said those arrested yesterday were identified by security guards who called the police.

Doro said the police were using the shops’ CCTV footage to investigate the robbery.
