Tsholotsho flood victims accused government of neglecting them and turning a blind eye to their cries for help by only focusing on the Masvingo flood disaster.

Government declared the Masvingo floods a national disaster resulting in a stampede by donor agencies, companies, and state entities among other corporations to assist the victims.

Senior Minister of State, Simon Khaya-Moyo leads the government delegation that comprises of Governor, Cain Mathema, Jonathan Moyo (Information and Publicity), Sydney Sekeramayi (Defence), Ignatius Chombo (Local Government), Joseph Made (Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development), Lazarus Dokora (Primary and Secondary Education), David Parirenyatwa (Health and Childcare), Obert Mpofu (Transport and Infrastructural Development), Kembo Mohadi (Home Affairs), Saviour Kasukuwere (Environment, Water and Climate) and Walter Chidhakwa (Mines and Mining Development).
