A GOKWE SOUTH man was last week slapped with a nine-year jail term for stealing his cousin’s cow worth about $350.

Onious Chikandiwa (35) from Chief Jiri’s area pleaded guilty to a charge of stocktheft when he appeared before Gokwe resident magistrate Shepherd Mjanja.
The court heard that on March 4, the complainant Matilda Kwekwete of the same area penned her cattle, but Chikandiwa went to the kraal and stole one beast.
He was seen by villagers driving it and they effected a citizen’s arrest and handed him to the police. The beast was recovered. Twitter feedback @silasnkala
