The tournament saw 47 teams going through knockout stages from Friday with the champions, Kings, Skittle Inn, Sibamba, Extreme, Exchange, Bambi Lodge, One, Nketa 8, Gold and Black, ZRP Central and South World making it to the last twelve teams.

The 12 teams were divided in two groups with Pool A being the group of death as good sides such as Extreme, Exchange and Kings were drawn in the same group.

They were also in the same group with equally good sides One, Skittle Inn and Sibamba. Pool B seemed to be a one-man’s race with ruthless Entumbane who did not face any challenge winning all of their group games with ease.

They were in the same pool with newly-formed side South World, ZRP Central, Gold and Black, Nketa 8 and Bambi Lodge.

The youthful Exchange Pool Club emerged winners in pool A making their way to the finals against champions Entumbane who came first in Pool B.

Kings came second in Pool A and went on to beat South World 4-0 who finished second in the second group to take home the third-place prize money.

For winning the tournament Entumbane walked away $400 richer, losing finalists Exchange pocketed $300 while for coming third Kings were awarded $200.

South World who were whitewashed by Kings in the third place play-offs got $100 for coming fourth. BPA publicity secretary Donald Wadawu credited the teams for coming in numbers for the tournament.

“It was a very good tournament. Teams came in numbers and there were some brilliant performances from the teams. It was a very competitive tournament, especially in Pool A in the last 12. That was a group of death,” Wadawu said.
