Flame Lilly had an explosive start to the league race after registering three successive wins in three matches.

Last weekend they beat Lake Harvest 1-0 to maintain pole position on the league table. They are now enjoying a cool breeze at the summit of the table with nine points and will be hoping to consolidate their position with another victory against Commando.

Commandos were dismissed 1-2 by Mushowani leaving them on 12th position on the league table. They have two points after two drawn games and one defeat.

Elsewhere, former Premier Soccer League side Black Mambas now known as ZRP FC will be hoping to continue with their winning streak when they face Gunners.

The John Ncube-coached side defeated Karoi United 1-0 at the weekend to climb to fourth position.

They now have six points after two wins and one defeat. Ncube said his team which was relegated from the PSL last season is still adjusting to the highly robust and physical game common in Division One.

He, however, said the players were coping and he was hoping to return to the top-flight league by the end of the campaign. Gunners are coming from a 3-2 victory over DC Academy and will be hoping a win over ZRP FC will put them in the right track in the bid to win the league title. Gunners are placed seventh on the log with six points after winning two matches and losing one.
